Nearly two months have passed since our last team update, and all of us here at FYC believe that that’s way too long! Our PC Division has come a long way since first introducing it into the organization. A lot has been going on during the past few months with all of our teams including leagues, LAN events, and online tournaments. First off, we would like to congratulate our Counter Strike Source squad on placing 4-5th place at the GXL LAN event over the Halloween weekend. They placed well and we were sorry to hear that they were knocked out of the tournament. The team received a BYE for the first round. After waiting for other matches to end, they were pitted against Afraid. FYC came out on top beating Afraid two maps to zero and awaited their next match up. After a several hour wait, FYC were to play against Crucial Connection. Crucial Connection came out on top and defeated FYC two maps to zero. FYC were now awaiting their match against the winners of the matches that were still to be played in the lower bracket. After another long wait, FYC were ready to face Eximius Sports. Unfortunately FYC were kicked out of the tournament losing to Eximius two maps to zero. FYC’s CSS squad will be attending the PCGN on December 5th and 6th so we are looking forward to great accomplishments from the event. Our Call of Duty squad has done exceptional during all of the online leagues. They recently were knocked out of the Alienware tournament only losing to the same team (With Null Eyes) in the upper and lower bracket. FYC started out strong in the upper bracket coming out victorious over Effortless 16-12, and Endless Shadow 13-4. With a 2-0 record, they were pitted against team With Null Eyes, who were capable of beating FYC 13-11 and knocking them to the lower bracket. In the lower bracket FYC were to face Endless Shadow once again, and were able to defeat them a second time 13-4. FYC were confident when receiving their next match, they would be playing CrackClan, a well known organization and team. FYC took the initiative and used great communication, enabling them to receive the win 13-9. If FYC were to win the next match in the lower bracket, they would be heading to the finals to face Loaded. Although confident throughout the tournament, FYC was yet again to face team With Null Eyes. Again FYC were defeated 13-5. FYC left the tournament with a 4-2 record. Look for them in the upcoming XPL Main season! Although losing some intense matches, the FYC DotA squad were still ready for a challenge as they showed when they were able to upset team PokerStars 1-0 in CEVO –P. They were also doing well in the ESL American Qualifiers, arriving as the 5th seed. They came out with an early lead beating oHH Baby and Global Domination Time. With a 2-0 lead, FYC were happy to be doing well. They were now to face uGamers in the upper bracket. Unfortunately they were defeated and sent to the lower bracket. FYC was once again defeated, this time in the lower bracket by TFT and sent “packing”. FYC was also participating in the ESL Major Series Season V DotA Qualification Round 1 where they lost to DISPARNA 0-1. The FYC DotA squad has been doing extremely well and we have nothing but good things to say about them. With the recent pickup of an Alliance of Valiant Arms team, FYC feels confident they can represent us well throughout the tournaments the game will be having. They have a set roster and will be competing in Xtreme Professional League, World Online Gaming League, and the 5v5 Escort tournament being held. We look forward to seeing amazing things come from this unique group of players. Please welcome them to the organization and encourage them throughout the future! What can I say about out Counter Strike 1.6 squad? They were more than capable of going undefeated in the ESEA-Open regular season, and that’s exactly what they did. They were 16-0 going into the playoffs beating such teams as Immortal-7.ca (16-3), and PowerForce(16-10). Going into playoffs, they were defeating teams left and right. They were able to overcome team DEFIANCE, Unorthodox Methods, and Rapid Eye Movement. Being 3-0 in playoffs, everything was going as planned. Unfortunately, things took a different path. FYC was defeated by CrackClan 16-12 on de_train, and Meepins 16-6 on de_nuke. It’s extremely unfortunate that things turned out this way for the amazing squad. The team will be moving up, and hopefully represting FYC at the eSport LAN event. Look for them in upcoming leages and LANs and support them, because they deserve all of the support and more. FYC is more than excited to add on to our PC division, picking up a more-than-qualified Heroes of Newerth team. It seems FYC has found the missing part of our organization. Hopefully the newly acquired HoN team can proceed with their dominant performance throughout the tournaments currently being played. Please welcome them to the family and support them through everything they accomplish while in our organization.
